When I discovered that the domain name www.BlogCastGirl.com was still available, I couldn’t resist. Right now, women young and old are taking back the word “girl,” and making it our own.
“Girl” used to be a perjorative, as in “even a girl could do that.” Today, teenagers wear tiny T-shirts proudly proclaiming, “I throw like a girl!” And just like that, girldom has become a symbol of power.
This girl started her technology career in eighth grade on an Apple IIe. I typed my first term paper straight-through without saving it and lost the entire document at about 2 a.m. And in addition to the advice of the 1999 song, “wear sunscreen,” I add, “back-up often,” and your life with computers will be much happier.
My career has spanned finance, marketing, sales, training, and business development, so I feel that I have a little to say about how to use technology to run a business. While we are so busy learning **how** to use the mind-boggling array of high-tech marketing tools available to us, we often forget **what** we are trying to achieve.
So, I will do my best to put the **what** first, and then give you some easy to follow **hows**.
